Sharjah Workshop: Arabic Newspaper Design

 By Tarek Atrissi

Abeer Tahlac’s work at the AUS typography workshop given by Tarek Atrissi

Just got back from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) where I gave a lecture and a two days workshop, with emphasis on Arabic Publications design, particularly newspaper design. The idea came as a response of the very classic newspaper main page designs we have in the Arab world, and as a practical challenging experience for students to deal with heavy Arabic text and maintain a newspaper layout yet create an interesting Visual Design. Some images above and below of the outcome and process of the workshop

We want to publish a book about urban and environmental typography, would you be interested in contributing?
