“Bayt Al Hamra” Arabic Calligraphy logo design

An Arabic calligraphic design for the logo of a Beirut based publishing house, Hamra House (Bayt Al Hamra). The Arabic calligraphy follows the Ruq’ah style, one of the most common types of written Arabic calligraphy. The Ruq’ah calligraphy characteristics, such as straight lines and simple curves, were ideal for the logo design as they evoked a popular style, similar to the style often found of hand painted signs used across streets in the Hamra district of Beirut city.
