Packaging Design for a Lebanese Winery

Country: Lebanon. Year: 2021

Tarek Atrissi Design was commissioned to develop the packaging for Domaine Wardy’s Single Variety wine collection — a series of 10 labels created for one of Lebanon’s most established and historic wineries. The brief called for a design approach that was rooted in Lebanese culture while offering strong shelf appeal and international relevance.

The visual language of the labels draws from traditional Lebanese wooden mosaics, architecture, and ornamental design. Each bottle features a unique pattern, digitally reinterpreted and paired with a distinct color palette that reflects the aromatic and flavor profile of the wine it represents. The result is a graphic coding system that creates consistency across the series while allowing each variety to stand out on its own.

Rather than following the aesthetics of French or modern minimalist wine labels, the design embraces its Lebanese identity. The goal was to craft a packaging concept that is unmistakably regional — rich in meaning, color, and detail — yet bold and contemporary enough to resonate with an international audience.

The labels were widely praised upon release, quickly becoming some of the most recognizable wine packaging designs in the Lebanese market. Celebrated for their vibrant aesthetic and cultural authenticity, the Domaine Wardy bottles now stand as a visual statement of pride, tradition, and design innovation.
