Poster Design, The Body Exhibition
Poster design for the School of Visual Arts in New York, for the MFA Design department’s students annual exhibition.
The exhibition, under the theme “the body” was entitled 36.6 °C / 98.6° F, which is the temperature of the human body.
The design solution was a poster series designed and developed by Tarek Atrissi and Kiki Katahira which took an egg as a metaphor for the exhibition. The egg, embraced by the human body in a variety of compositions, was the basis of a concept that was applied to several posters. With the opening of the exhibition, the egg broke symbolizing the birth of the body.
The poster series received various awards including the Adobe Design Achievement Awards and the Type Directors Club (TDC New York) award. It was on exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
